The group has been in existence for over 40 years, having been founded as the ‘West End Breakfast Club’ in the late 1970s.
At outset, membership consisted of West End located, Independent Financial Adviser business owners. Back then, these businesses were referred to as ‘brokers’. As a means to improve themselves, their businesses and the service provision for their clients, they met and shared experiences over breakfast once a month.
Over the decades since, the central tenet of sharing best practice and ideas over breakfast continues. The group itself has adapted and now accepts decision makers and business influencers from a much wider market of wealth and financial planning, investment managers, law and accountancy firms. Membership now includes businesses from all over the UK.
Consequently, it was decided that we should radically change the name to better reflect the purpose and ethos of this prestigious group and in doing so broadcast what we represent.
Since 2020, we have become "The Ideas Exchange", with the strapline of shaping personal finance.
